mission
Spreading Happiness and encouraging peaceful Revolution through thoughtful, artistic, well made, future focused fashion. We intend to enhance and empower your inherent awesomeness by dressing those who care as much about the planet and human impact as they do their style and health.
Themis and Thread is dedicated to exclusive use of North and South American made, natural and recycled components. No one in this process should experience any unhappiness because of it, from farm to fabric, maker to marketplace.
We refuse to subscribe to commonly accepted levels of toxicity built into our industrial, social and domestic infrastructure.

2020 TIME FOR CHANGE
Life extinguishing brush fires, the spread of COVID19 creating a Global Pandemic, reignition of the Black Lives Matters Movement, civil unrest, climate disaster...
2020 is the time for change on all levels. This is what Revolution looks like. We are answering the call.
7 years ago a traumatic spark ignited the Fashion Revolution and Themis and Thread was called to action.
Sparks are flying. Now it's time for everyone to answer what's calling them.
We have taken lots of time to listen and to plan how Themis and Thread can be more inclusive. We will not stay silent. We will not post performatively. We will not perpetuate racist policy. We took a break on Blackout Tuesday and focused on amplifying Black voices and nurturing our Private Facebook Groups like Community Supported Fashion and Beauty Justice. We’d love it if you got in on the conversations there too!
We continue to stand for the rights of Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Queer (LGBTQ) people all over Mother Earth whom we also stand for.
MOVING FORWARD
We have studied racism and discrimination and will continue to do so in an effort to only spread joy and inclusion.
We are hiring more diverse contractors like models and makers. If you're interested in collaborating email [email protected]
*We are expanding our supply base to include all of The Americas.*
Our original business plan focused on all supplies coming from The United States of America which excluded many Indigenous/People of Color to the North and South and further perpetuated the lack of funds being dispersed amongst the Global South. We will continue to focus on safe and ethically produced supplies but are proud to include South America and the rest of North America which will still enable us to continue to reduce our carbon footprint through ordering close to home.
To make Sustainable Style more accessible to everyone we will focus on sharing and creating Do It Yourself Tutorials and assets that make Sustainable Style something that everyone can access and create themselves at home. With the same intention we will expand our Vintage Style offerings as an economical, ethical, and unique way to make Sustainable Style more accessible - this is a huge piece of the puzzle everyone can rock!
