*This service is for local Finger Lakes brides only or someone who is willing to travel to Hector, New York for at least two fittings.* Taking a vintage gown and redesigning it for a second chance at love is an honor and a joy. Together we become a part of the living history of a garment, and I love helping you reuse a dress, often an heirloom. This is ethical, economical, environmentally friendly, sentimental and so interesting! The cost to redesign a customer provided gown averages around $250, but this is a highly variable process, much like custom designing. A vintage redesign is much more than alterations, we are taking someone else's dress and truly making it yours! The transformation is done with patience and skill. Designer Jesse Junko Beardslee has over 20 years experience redesigning vintage fashion. Each vintage gown is completely unique, with unique challenges. Together we assess the feasibility and then fit new design elements. Working with a bride on a Vintage Redesign takes considerably less time than creating a Custom Gown, but we do need four months to get fittings and design changes finalized. This is a down payment, not a contract.

What folks are saying:

"Talking with Jesse makes me feel seen, heard, known, accepted, understood and INSPIRED! She is a great listener, open minded, open hearted and a super creative problem solver. You can feel the passion she has for empowering women, in anyway, but especially through fashion. I really feel like I can share anything with her… really personal issues regarding clothing and body image, or clothing and dating, or clothing and authenticity, clothing and age… She gets it. I highly recommend working with her."
Jill A.

“Before Covid my wardrobe may or may not have been stuck in maternity clothing - stylish, but stretchy....and while I'm pretty committed to stretchy-but-stylish, I'm not committed to stretched and worn OUT. SO the woman I hired is Jesse Beardslee!”
Laura K.

“At a very vulnerable time in all aspects I felt really held by Jesse. She was super non-judgmental and met me exactly where I am. She helped ground me into more confidence that my dream of being an entrepreneurial artist is not only possible, but that I do have the support and ability to be successful; And I walked away with some tools, tips and ideas so that I can take the next steps.”
Nicole C.

"
Jesse came to me as a referral from a friend and I could not be happier with her approach to fashion. She was thorough, experienced, accommodating and supportive through the alteration process of my wedding dress. She also took on altering both my sister’s and my mom’s dress for the big day, with great ideas on how to improve them both. Jesse took care of the whole family and removed any worries or stress we were harboring. I would recommend working with Jesse for any and all of your fashion needs, she is wonderful!"
Maria T.

“I can't recommend Jesse's Spirit-style consultation enough. Whether we like it or not, we all judge and are being judged based fashion choices. Feeling confident in clothes that fit and accessories that represent your intention is worth taking the effort and Jesse can help. Her approach is comfortable, confidential and congenial.”
