Fashion Revolution is a global campaign that launched exactly one year after the world’s deadliest fashion industry accident which killed 1,138 people and injured over 2,000 people on April 24, 2013 at the Rana Plaza factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Every year, during the week of April 24th, people all over the world demand a more transparent, sustainable, responsible and safe fashion industry. By asking brands #WhoMadeMyClothes, exploring the hidden truths behind the seams and seeking solutions you are advocating for a more beautiful fashion industry supportive of healthy humanity, environmental responsibility and an educated economy.  If you can't make it to our events here in the Finger Lakes find out more ways to join the Revolution at fashionrevolution.org and their How to be a Fashion Revolutionary PDF is incredible!

here's the plan!

Join us for an outdoor, distanced, art and fashion party with Themis and Thread and Nicole Costa at Hector Handmade on Saturday April 24th! Designer Jesse Junko Beardslee and Artist Nicole Costa collaborated to create Red Carpet Revolution, an artscape experience during Fashion Revolution Week in New York's Finger Lakes region.  Celebrate your personal style and dress up for a Red Carpet photo opp in front of an upcycled backdrop.  Experiment with vintage fashion and The Change Machine (Costa’s signature dressing room), while shopping a curated collection of fun and funky secondhand style. Walk the Red Carpet along Hector, New York's rolling vistas and Scenic Byway to find ways to incorporate sustainability and advocacy into your wardrobe. From art to action you can learn about Fashion Revolution Week, become a part of the solution and join the Revolution.

The main event is from 12-5 on Saturday April 24th on the covered front porch of Hector Handmade, a seasonal Gift Shop and Gallery. Masks are required but swapping your mask for a picture perfect smile at the end of the Red Carpet is totally encouraged!

There will also be two Preview events! Sunday April 18th get a sneak peek of Vintage Clothing and learn about Fashion Revolution Week from Themis and Thread at Rasta Ranch Vineyards' Sip and Shop; An open air market featuring local small businesses in Hector, New York.  Dress up for Formal Friday on April 23rd and get a sneak peek of Nicole Costa's art and our Vintage Clothing at Sales by Terri, (curated secondhand home designs!) on Main Street in Montour Falls, New York. Details to follow!
